CRIMEWATCH is issuing an appeal after an attack in a pub which left a man scarred for life.

The BBC show will be showing CCTV images of two men who are wanted after a 31-year-old man had a glass smashed in his face at the White Horse pub, in Southchurch Boulevard.

It happened after the 31-year-old victim confronted two men over rude comments they were making towards a man with a disability.

He was then struck with a pint glass, leaving him with a severe 2-inch cut on the side of his jaw and neck which needed stitches.

The two men then left the pub in Southchurch Boulevard on foot.

The Echo issued an appeal following the incident, which happened at about 10.15pm on Tuesday, June 7 last year, but police are yet to track down the culprits.

Police believe the men were not regulars at the pub, and may have been tradesmen.

The CCTV will now be featured on Crimewatch on BBC One at 9pm tonight.

Anyone with information about the assault, or who recognises the men in the CCTV footage or stills should contact Det Con Richard Walker at Southend CID on 101 or 0300 333 4444. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
