THIEVES have stolen £600 of tools from Chalkwell railway station.
Police have released CCTV of two men they believe brok into a locked toilet to steal the tools.
It happened late on Saturday, 18 February.
Detective Constable Michael Bute, investigating officer, said: “Two men were seen getting off a train, which had come from Southend, at Chalkwell rail station around 11.30pm.
“The pair then headed towards the women’s toilets on platform two, which were locked and out of service for refurbishment at the time. They forced their way in through a padlock and stole two electric saws.
“CCTV then shows the men to board a train back towards Southend.”
Detectives are continuing local enquiries into the incident, including distributing CCTV stills of two men to local police forces through intelligence systems, and speaking to witnesses in the area.Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting background reference B5/LNA of 19/03/2012.
