A COLD-CALLING company claiming to be working with the police has been offering free house alarms.
The caller states they can install an alarm which is connected directly to Essex Police.
They then request a large amount of money for the alarm to be fitted.
Essex Police says they do not endorse private security companies, or instruct them to contact residents on their behalf.
Residents are urged to report any similar incidents to Consumer Direct on 08454 040506.
