MOTORISTS are being warned not to leave valuables on view in their cars after four vehicles were broken into in Vange, Wickford and Pitsea.
In Wickford, thieves smashed the window of a VW Golf in Station Approach, before stealing a sat nav.
The theft happened between 6.30am and 3.40pm on Wednesday, May 16.
Thieves also targeted a Ford Fiesta in Alderney Gardens. They smashed a window before stealing a palmtop computer on Friday, May 18, at 12.20pm.
On the same day in Fleetway, Vange, crooks smashed the window of a white van and stole a sat nav from the dashboard at 6.55pm.
Two days later in Luncies Road, Pitsea, thieves smashed the window of a Nissan Primera before stealing cash, a driving licence and other personal documents.
Police are probing all of the thefts, but warned motorists not to tempt thieves by leaving things on display.
Insp Cath Henderson, of Pitsea and Wickford police, said: “People need to ensure they do not leave valuables on display.
“We continually warn motor-ists, but still people are leaving cash, valuables and even personal document in their vehicles.”
Witnesses to the thefts can call police on 101.
