Two people cut off by the tide near the coast of Shoebury were able to get back to dry land.
At about 10.25am on Friday, Southend Coastguard received a call saying the pair had been spotted out in the sea and had appeared to have drifted out too far.
Despite the concern, the duo were able to return to shore unaided.
