Man steals from disabled woman delivering Christmas cards in Canvey

A DISABLED woman was left distressed after a thief in a distinctive car stole her handbag while she was delivering Christmas cards.

A man stole the woman's black leather handbag containing a Fiorelli purse and cash, phone, bank cards, keys and glasses out of her mobility scooter's basket when she had left it for a moment in the Kings Holiday Park in Canvey at around 10.50am on Thursday.

The man, described as white, in his early 40s, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build with short greying curly hair and wearing a beige jacket and brown trousers, got into a green Vauxhall Corsa with distinctive white 'go faster' stripes on the bonnet.

There was a woman in the passenger seat and they drove off out of the park at great speed.

PC Lewis Gordon, who is investigating, said: "The woman was left very distressed and I hope someone will give me information to identify the man, or knows who owns the distinctive car, so we can catch him."

Anyone with information should contact PC Gordon at Rayleigh on 101, or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

First off, that language is completely uncalled for.

Secondly, Carol is correct and I suspect you're actually talking about Thorney Bay Caravan Park which is where all the JSA dossers live

Kings Park only allows over 50's to live there and entry to the park itself is through a barrier so people have to sign in.

I would also suspect it has CCTV up that will have caught the vehicle reg in question.

If it is the old King's Residential Site in Hindles Road you are referring to King's sold it year ago and bought Thorney Bay and then, it would appear, maybe repeating the same "mistake"?
All the old chalets on the old Kings Residential Site have been demolished.

although you are correct in saying kings sold it and bought thorney bay. the new owners didn't demolish all the chalets and a couple of years ago started letting them out to undesirables. they only pay rent and unlike all the other residents who have paid thousands don't have the same respect for the place

Having googled mapped it, what you say about the chalets is correct, so believe you are right that they are let to anyone. Old old story money before people.
