BEAMING Joadey Dyer has more on her plate than most mums after giving birth to triplets – and doubling the size of her young brood in one fell swoop.

Joadey, 39, and husband Gary, 40, are already proud parents to nine-year-old Madison and 15-year-old twins Kirsty and Brook.

The arrival of triplets Erin, Evie and Riley has given them even more to celebrate, in spite of the sleepless nights and the hectic schedule of caring for three young babies.

Joadey said: “They are my three little stars.

“I’m up nearly all night. After one wakes to be fed, I get back to bed and then half an hour later another one wakes. Gary has been brilliant though.

“The amount of nappies we are going through is unbelievable.”

The babies are amazingly the fifth multiple birth in three generations of Joadey’s family, They were born by planned caesarean section on March 11, four weeks earlier than the 34 weeks most triple pregnancies are expected to take.

They weighed between 2 lbs 4oz and 2lbs 11oz but are gradually putting on the pounds and are all healthy.

Checks on Riley have found that she has very small holes in her brain, but doctors are monitoring her and are hopeful the condition will not cause any serious problems.

Joadey said: “When you’re pregnant with three babies all you keep thinking is what’s going to be wrong, because the odds of there being problems go up. For them to all come out screaming and not have any problems was just brilliant.”

The tiny trio spent six weeks in Southend Hospital’s maternity unit building up their strength before Joadey and Gary were finally allowed to bring them home to Clarence Road, South Benfleet, about two weeks ago. Joadey said: “All the staff were absolutely fantastic. We had 26 medical staff in the room for the delivery, everything was so well organised.

“But we could not wait to get them home.”

The pregnancy, which was conceived naturally, was even more unusual as Erin and Evie are identical twins from the same egg, and Riley is from a different egg – a type of conception known as polyzygotic twins.

The youngsters have already been causing quite a stir wherever they go, and turned plenty of heads when they joined Joadey on a well-earned shopping trip to Bluewater in Kent.

She said: “I didn’t buy anything, it was just people wanting to look and ask me questions!”
