Fire Authority votes to cut Canvey fire cover
CAMPAIGNERS have been left "gutted" after the Essex Fire Authority voted to approve plans to reduce fire cover on Canvey.
At a meeting earlier today, the members voted to change the station in Long Road from one full time and one retained crew to two retained crews.
7,000 people signed a petition and demonstrated against the plans.
