IT was a poignant homecoming for a hero who died serving his country.
Draped in the Union Flag, the coffin carrying Rochford soldier Aaron Lewis arrived back in the UK with four other victims of the Afghan conflict.
Lieutenant Lewis, 26, was fatally wounded when his company came under fire in Helmand Province.
His body was flown to RAF Lyneham, Wiltshire, in a military transport aircraft. His family and girlfriend Naomi Tolley watched the plane land and attended a repatriation ceremony for Lt Lewis and four other soldiers.
