Police are appealing for information following the attempted robbery of a schoolboy in Southend last Tuesday.
The 14-year old victim had been walking along Queensway, near to the junctions with Seaway car park and Pleasant Road, when two men approached him from behind.
One grabbed him by the shoulder while the other felt the victim’s wallet in his pocket. Threats were made to the boy, but when they saw his possessions they decided they were not interested.
The victim then walked away uninjured.
The suspects then walked back to a phone box where they appeared to have been loitering.
Police would like to hear from anyone who noticed anything suspicious between 3.30pm and 4pm on Tuesday May 28.
One of the suspects is described as a black, aged 16 to 19, about 5ft 7ins and slim. He had a slim face with a thin moustache and was wearing a black hoodie pulled close to his face.
The other is black and slim and in his mid-twenties. He had a slim face and black hair in tiny braids between two and three inches long. Each braid was coloured with beads and bands around the end of each one. He was wearing a black hoodie.
