FIREFIGHTERS used airbags to free a dog which had become trapped under a shipping container on a farm.
Crews were called in by the RSPCA to help rescue the terrier, which was trapped in Little Wakering Road, Little Wakering.
The crew, from Shoeburyness fire station, arrived at the scene at 11.50am today.
Sub officer Ian Lighton said: "The container is used to store hay in and was situated next to the stables on the farm.
“The little terrier called Ellie had chased a rat under the container and became trapped.
“We used airbags to lift the container up away from the dog, so she could be released safely, as soon as the crews raised the container the dog ran out, and she was no worse off following her ordeal."
The crews rescued the terrier shortly after 12.45pm.
