A 60-year-old biker was airlifted to hospital following a serious road crash in Eastwood.
The motorcyclist was involved in a crash between his KTM motorcycle and a blue Peugeot.at about 7.40pm last night near Eastwood School in Rayleigh Road.
The motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital, while the 28-year-old driver of the car was uninjured.
The victim, who is local, suffered multiple injuries.
Leigh firefighters were called to the scene following the crash and ambulance crews were also sent.
The road was shut for hours as an investigation got under way, only reopening at 1.30am.
Witnesses should call 101.
