JAY May scored all of Billericay's four goals as they returned to winning ways at bottom-of-the-table Truro City.

Town's win was made all the more impressive by the fact they played for more than an hour of the game with 10 men after the sending off of striker Charlie Taylor.

May gave Town a fifth minute lead when he fired home from Taylor's flick-on.

Taylor's dismissal on 26 minutes came after he received his second yellow card for dissent.

He protested about an initial booking for an off-the-ball incident with City's Carlon Hall, who was also booked for his part, as they stood on the halfway line while a corner was being taken.

The hosts were on top for the rest of the half but did not capitalise and they went 2-0 down three minutes after the restart as Dave Collis put a hopeful ball into the box and May sent a looping header over keeper Luke McCormick and into the net.

Billericay captain Rob Swaine was lucky to escape a second booking when he committed a foul on the edge of the box in the 64th minute.

But Town were punished when half-time sub Martin Watts scored directly from the resulting free-kick.

Billericay restored their two-goal advantage three minutes later, though, when the impressive Paul Semakula crossed for May to shin the ball hone from close-range for his hat-trick.

And any thoughts of a comeback were ended with a terrific fourth goal from May as he shrugged off his marker from a ball over the top and then calmly lobbed the advancing McCormick.

Kieffer Moore scored a consolation for Truro 11 minutes from time, but Town held on comfortably.

There was a promising debut for Billericay at left-back for former Grays man Eljay Worrell.
