Rochford Hundred know they must improve to beat Eton Manor
ROCHFORD Hundred host high-flying Eton Manor in London One North tomorrow, knowing they must produced an improved performance to win.
Hundred ended a run of 12 games without a victory when beating Old Haberdashers 22-13 last weekend.
But their first team manager Graham Pratt believes Rochford will need to step up another gear if they are to build on that triumph.
“We will need to play even better when we play Eton Manor because they’re second in the table and are a very efficient side,” said Pratt.
“They punish sides that do not show the necessary aggression against them so we will need to get into them early on and keep the pressure on.
“We did that last season and it resulted in an excellent win at their place so hopefully we can do the same this time too.”
Hundred coach George Fouche has kept mainly an unchanged team for tomorrow’s clash except for Richard Mott coming into the second row to strengthen up the line-out.
Tom Corbet is back on the bench after recovering from injury and Dan Bracknell will also be among the replacements as bottom of the table Rochford look to give their survival hopes another boost.
Basildon, who are third from bottom in the standings, will also be looking to do the same when they travel to sixth placed Luton.
Basildon suffered a 29-3 defeat against relegation rivals Chingford last weekend and will be keen to produce an improved display.
In London Three North East, table topping South Woodham Ferrers are at home to sixth placed Beccles while third bottom Canvey Island travel to the team just above them in the table, Sudbury.
Fifth placed Billericay head to Upper Clacton, who are eighth in Essex One and, in Essex Two, third place Pegasus Palmerians host eighth placed Phantoms and sixth placed Stanford le Hope are at home to the team immediately below them, Brightlingsea.
