IT’S been a good, solid week of hard training ahead of tomorrow’s game against Northampton Town.

All of the matches we’ve played so far have been very difficult but Northampton made the play-off final last season and I think they’ll be the toughest team we have played this term.

It’s a challenge we’re all relishing, especially as we’re going in to the match on the back of two successive 1-0 wins in the league.

That’s pleasing for the defenders and the goalkeeper as well but it’s the whole team who should be praised.

Freddy Eastwood worked incredibly hard up front on his own at Hartlepool and I think that set the tone for the rest of the team to do likewise.

Freddy was our lone striker after Barry Corr was unjustly sent off just before half-time.

We all had to battle hard after his dismissal but the way we rallied round without him again showed how good the team spirit is here at the moment.

Thankfully, Barry’s red card has since been overturned and that he’ll be able to play at the weekend because he’s an important player for us.

In fact, that meant that the only disappointment of the weekend was that all the new lads were quite good at singing.

As expected, they all had to sing to the rest of the squad and it’s far more entertaining when they’re quite nervous and not that good.

But it was a high standard on Friday night, with Will Atkinson probably leading the way with his rendition of Miami which was quite impressive.

Their efforts certainly raised a laugh and so did trapping a few of the players in the toilet on the way home.

Spirits were high after such a good win and it was obviously a very long journey home.

So to help pass the time we thought it would be funny to not let the players out the toilet on the coach!

It probably does sound quite childish but it was very entertaining and certainly helped pass the time.

Some of the players were tricked in to it and others just weren’t bright enough to work out what was going on!

FAREWELL BARKS AND HELLO TOMMO

CHRIS Barker has now left the club and I’d like to wish him all the best at Aldershot.

Chris is a friend of all the lads and people come and I hope things go really well for him at his new club.

We’ve also welcomed Adam Thompson to the club since my last column.

He looked very composed when he came on and I think he’ll be another quality addition to our squad which is now really starting to take shape.
