IT’S been incredibly frustrating for me not be able to play the last few matches and I’m desperate to be involved against Morecambe tomorrow as we look to get back to winning ways.

I enjoyed a good pre-season and was looking forward to taking that into the league games.

I then picked up the groin injury and that’s set back the goals and targets I had set myself in the opening few matches, and it’s been frustrating that it’s taken a little longer than expected to settle down.

But I had a good fitness session before Saturday’s game at Wycombe and can hopefully train well again today to be back in the manager’s plan for the Morecambe match.

Whoever does play will be looking to put things right after two successive 2-1 defeats and we’ve again had it confirmed just how important set pieces are in football.

We conceded twice from dead-ball situations at Wycombe which cost us the game and lots has been made about that.

But I also feel that we need to improve our set pieces at the other end of the field because we haven’t scored from one yet.

That’s something we want to sort out and hopefully we can do it against Morecambe.

For that to happen we are going to have to show even more of the effort and hard work that we have done already this season, because Morecambe are a resilient team who I’m sure will have promotion aims of their own season.

Everyone is extremely focused on the job in hand and making sure we get back to winning ways.

TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY NO DIFFERENT FOR PLAYERS

TRANSFER deadline day is exactly the same for a player as it is for a fan.

We have no inside information about deals which might be taking place and the first we hear about them is normally through the media, so of course you keep an eye out for any news.

But it’s all out of our hands so it’s not some-thing I tend to think about, especially as I have every confidence in my team-mates who are already at the club.

The manager brought in Cauley Woodrow from Fulham before the window closed and he’s been very impressive in training this week.

He’s looked sharp, scored some good goals and he’s already shown us what he’s about, so hopefully he can do well for us.
