I DON’T think there is really much writing or talking to be done ahead of tonight’s game against Scunthorpe United if I’m being honest.

We’re all incredibly disappointed to have been beaten by Morecambe last weekend and to have lost in our last three games.

But talk is cheap and it doesn’t matter what we actually say in the build up to the game.

It’s all about what we do when we get on the pitch that’s important and we have to make sure we get back to how we were playing at the start of the season.

We have to roll our sleeves up, work even harder than we have been doing to get in Scunthorpe’s faces in order to make sure we get the result we all want.

Scunthorpe are a good club in this league and they will be looking to have a good season after being relegated from League One last season.

They’ve had a lot of draws already this year which proves they’re head to beat but we can’t afford to be worrying about anyone else and what they might be doing.

We will be showing them plenty of respect but we need to focus on ourselves and worry about what we’re doing.

With that in mind, we’ve had a look at the recording of the Morecambe match and gone through what went wrong to try and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

The first half wasn’t actually too bad and I thought we dominated things leading up to Kevan Hurst putting us in front.

But Morecambe came back after that to get the win and we were all disappointed with the goals we gave away.

We want to get back to winning ways and keeping clean sheets and we want that to start against Scunthorpe tonight.

PLEASED TO SEE ENGLAND ON TOP

IT’S great to see England top of their qualifying group for the World Cup and it’s a real fairytale story seeing Rickie Lambert playing a part in the games.

I remember playing against him in the lower leagues and he was always someone you picked out who had the ability to go on and play higher.

He had one of the most powerful shots I’ve ever seen in football and we were always worried about giving free-kicks away on the edge of the box when he was around.

It’s brilliant for him that he’s now doing so well and I think it’s good for the game to see someone coming up through the leagues.
