CAULEY Woodrow has returned to Fulham after the Cottagers decided to terminate his loan spell at Southend United.

The 19-year-old striker scored four goals in 21 appearances for the Shrimpers.

But Fulham have opted to call him back after he failed to become a regular in the starting line-up at Roots Hall.

Woodrow has not really made an impression, so will not be missed, other than as a substitute which has been his usual role. However, given Barry Corr's inconsistency and lack of goals this season, and Freddy Eastwood's self-admitted lack of full fitness, which makes Phil Brown reluctant to use him until the last few minutes of a match, it is essential that Lee Barnard gets back his match sharpness quickly.
Even then, I think we may need another striker as back up, even if he would not be expected to start too many games.
