ROCHFORD’S Holt Farm Infants School took a team of eight pupils to compete in the Castle Point & Rochford Year 2 mini-tennis tournament.
Each youngster played two matches each against Westerings and Thundersley schools, winning 10 of their 16 games.
Tennis has been introduced to the children at Holt Farm Infants through PE lessons and with a after-school club run by Rochford tennis coach Chris Nielson.

Nielson said: “The children, some of who picked up a racket for the first time in April this year, played brilliantly.
“It was their first ever tennis competition and we are delighted to have won 10 out of the 16 games. They should be really proud. They can all now rally and know the rules of the game.”
