TEENAGE Thai boxer Natty Dodds has conquered the world at the age of 15.

Dodds claimed the XFS junior world title after knocking out double world champion George Mouzakitis in Corfu at the weekend.

The Southend schoolboy silenced the Greek fighter’s home-town fans in San Stefanos with a stunning second round stoppage.

Dodds, who was having his first competitive bout in more than a year, showed no signs of ring rust as he dominated the 60kg contest from the opening bell.

After show-boating in the first round, he moved up a gear in the next and Mouzakitis was soon in trouble.

An elbow to the head shook the champion midway through the round before a left-hook and rightcross combination sent him crashing to the canvas.

Mouzakitis, who also holds an IFMA world title, was left sprawled unconscious in his own corner, prompting the referee to wave off the fight without issuing a count.

And Dodds paid credit for his victory to WBC English bantamweight champion Reece Thomson, who he spent countless rounds sparring against, and trainer Chris Rawlings.

“I was over the moon with my fight,” said Dodds.

“I enjoyed every minute of it and I would like to thank Reece for training me every day and getting me fit.

“I’d also like to thank Chris for keeping me on track and I’m glad I could make my friends and family proud.”

Rawlings, who over the past 20 years has produced a string of champions at his Westcliff gym Mungkorn Dam, was also full of praise for his latest protégé.

“Natty showed so much talent, I’m so very proud of him, not just for winning, but all for all the hard work he put in at the gym training for this fight,” said Rawlings.

“His opponent was quality and a really nice guy, only in Muay Thai is there so much respect between fighters, I love it.”
