Phil Brown - still looking to bring in a new full-back

First published in Sport by

BLUES boss Phil Brown is still looking to bring another full-back to the club.

Brown missed out on a loan swoop for Manchester City’s Adam Drury earlier this week.

But he will now turn his attentions as well to provide more cover and competition in that area of the team.

“We played 53 games last season, Ben Coker played all but one and John White played something like 48 of them which was lucky for us,” said Brown.

“We want to improve on that but saying that I was impressed by our very young back in the development match we had against Brighton.

“Three of them were 16 and one was 17 so maybe we might be able to get away with having Ben, John and the two kids coming through in their positions.”

Well Mr. Brown you had the perfect cover right under your nose in RYAN AUGER . The club invested years bringing him through the youth system + every match he played in the reserves he excelled. He was the best player in our 1st two pre seasons this year too and has proved he could play a variety of positions well. Yet you discard him after barely giving him the chance to prove his potential. He has just turned 20 so is the perfect age to add cover to your unbalanced squad. As a right back of 650 games i thought you would know a good full back when you saw one. I guess you dont. Good luck playing the 16 year olds instead.

Thompson and Prosser can also play full back roles, I agree with Joyce above, about Auger....one that's been let go far too soon in my opinion.

Sorry to be boring agree with both fans above, what is it with managers looking after SUFC, there is good local talent within our catchment area why don't they get of their backsides and have a look.
Present squad is perhaps play offs worst again mid table.
Roll on 2015 - 2016 season more hope in July again
