SOUTHEND United centre-back Luke Prosser insists he has now fully recovered for the knee injury which almost forced him to miss last Saturday’s match against Morecambe.

Prosser lined up against the Shrimps having been forced to sit out training in the build up to the game.

But the defender has not missed any sessions this week and now cannot wait to face Luton Town this weekend.

“I had a sore knee which just needed a couple of day’s rest if it was to ever get better again,” said the 26-year-old.

“It’s fine again now and I’m really looking forward to the game against Luton.

“There will be a big crowd and a good atmosphere so these are the type of matches you want to be involved in as a player.”

The Shrimpers head in to the game sitting fourth in the League Two table.

And Prosser is desperate to help get Blues back to winning ways after last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Morecambe.

“It was a disappointing result and performance last week, “said Prosser.

“A few of us were off par but if you played well every week then the chances are you wouldn’t be playing in League Two.

“We still created enough chances to win the game and morale is high.

“But we need to bounce back now and that makes Saturday’s game massive.”
