GREAT Wakering Rovers’ under-11 team will be making hisssstory this season with their new sponsor.
The Colts will be sponsored by Southend reptile store ‘Snakes Alives’ for the new season – the first time the team has been sponsored from an organisation outside the club.
The team, who play in the Southend and District Junior League Division A, held ‘Mia’ the 18ft Burmese Python at the team photo shoot, with the giant snake weighing in at seven-and-a-half stone.
Dan Hepplewhite, who runs Snakes Alive, said: “It was great to sponsor the team and had great fun doing the photos with the boys. We bought lizards, snakes and spiders, but the boys were great.”
Meanwhile, Great Wakering Colts’ under seven side have been boosted by a new kit, thanks to a sponsorship deal with Vimpex Wakering’s squad consists of Max Shepherd, James Knight, Taylor Pearce, Toby Johnson, Sophie Stack, Jude Morgan, Finley Ledger, Alex Jaworski, Ashton Emmons and Oliver Walpole.
