STAV Economou triumphed in the main event of UWC 25, beating Polish rival Kamil Bazelack inside the opening round.
Bazelack had challenged Economou to a rematch after he felt their original bout had been stopped too soon.
But he could have no complaints in Southend on Saturday.
And Economou was thrilled to come out on top.
“Overall I was happy with the fight,” said the Westcliff based 28-year-old.
“It had been a year since my last fight so I had been looking forward to fighting and shaking off any ring rust.
“I stopped him about a minute earlier than I did last time too so I was really pleased with that.”
Economou’s victory completed a successful night for the TSG fighters, with all 10 others coming out on top.
And that also pleased Economou.
“The whole evening couldn't have gone much better really,” he said.
“Everyone from TSG won and performed well and the whole overall show was action packed form start to finish.
“I think it made for a great return to Garons after we had been at a few other venues.”
But Economou does not yet know when or where he will be fighting net.
“I'm leaving it up to my management as to who I fight next,” said Economou.
“There could possibly a fight abroad but if not I'll be back in Southend for UWC.”
