THE PREVIEW: East Thurrock may be depleted by injuries but they are favourites to take the points tonight against a Farnborough side that has lost all eight of its away matches so far this season.
Rocks plundered a late equaliser against Wingate & Finchley on Saturday and now sit 13th in the Ryman Premier League.
Farnborough’s early season was dominated by news of huge debts owed to creditors. However, that has since been wiped clean after a ruling at the start of the month although they do still face a double-relegation if they end the season in the drop zone, having been told they will go down at least one tier. They are currently in 22nd place although have games in hand on the teams above them.
Farnborough’s last defeat on the road came at VCD Athletic, who had previously failed to win any of their home matches.
WHAT HE SAID: Rocks boss John Coventry said: “In the circumstances a point against Wingate was good as they are in the top four although we could have got all three I felt.
“I said at the start of the season I was thinking of the play-offs and if we can’t beat teams like Farnborough then we have no chance. They are a bit unpredictable as they make about four or five changes every time they play as they have a lot of loan players. It makes it slightly difficult to prepare but we are getting stronger as the weeks go on.”
Kye Ruel and Kris Newby got some minutes under their belts at the weekend having returned from injury and Sam Higgins is back running again.
