SOUTHEND based shot-putter Robin Womack shook off an illness to impress in the latest round of the British Grand Prix series.
The wheelchair-bound Great Britain international, who finished fifth at the IPC World Championships last season, recorded a mark of 9.31m.
And, after enduring an indifferent build up, he was pleased with the performance.
"It's below my personal best but after being ill I guess I have to be satisfied with that," said Womack.
"During the warm-up I had one measured at 9.81m so it was frustrating not to produce that in the competition.
"But it does show that I am moving in the right direction."
