Ray Rate coached the club's juniors and presented them with plenty of prizes, while an exhibition mens four of Simon Bonham, Matt Pearson, Richard Barham and Nick Plappert also entertained the audiences.

Short tennis coaches also put on some sessions, there were courts available with club coach Graham Broadley and there were also stocks available where people paid for their favourite people to be put in them.

Elsewhere, Westcliff Hard's ladies vets first team lost 7-1 to Thorpe Bay.

Handelaar played through the pain with a calf problem and was joined in the team by Sue Hookway, Jackie Barton and Sue Levy.
