THE MATCH: Two play-off hopefuls go head-to-head in the Isthmian North tomorrow, with Bowers & Pitsea targeting a fourth away win in five matches at Bury Town.

Bowers have been in fine form in recent weeks and have not lost any of the last six matches.

Wins at Ware and Egham Town were followed up with a hugely impressive 2-1 win at Heybridge Swifts in the Essex Senior Cup on Tuesday - Swifts’ first home defeat this season.

It followed a frustration week in which Bowers were thrown out of the FA Trophy after a sub-committee ruled they had breached competition rules.

Bowers are appealing the charge and manager Rob Small will be determined for his team to be focused on the task at hand come 3pm tomorrow afternoon.

THE INSIGHT: “It is unacceptable to let these distractions deter us from giving everything tomorrow,” said Small. “That will only make the bitterness worse if we drop points. We set our targets at the start of the season and none of them was winning the FA Trophy.

“Bury are a very good team -one of the best in the division on their own patch. We were well beaten there last season and are very aware of the threats they pose.

“We got an excellent win at Heybridge Swifts in the Essex Senior Cup in the week. It was their first home loss of the season and it was hugely competitive and a phenomenal result.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Jamie Dicks and Jamie Salmon are suspended. Lewis Manor could start for Bowers.
