THE MATCH: Canvey Island will be looking to continue their good home form when Mildenhall Town come to Essex tomorrow.
The Gulls have won their last three home clashes, scoring 12 goals, and have dispatched of league leaders AFC Hornchurch in the process.
They will fancy their chances of keeping the gap to the top four to a minimum against Mildenhall, although the 18th placed team have shown signs of life in recent weeks.
A draw and a win in their last two matches has given the Suffolk outfit hope of a strong second half to the season.
With just one team going down, it seems Mildenhall have done enough, but they will not want to rest on their laurels with the season only in January.
THE INSIGHT: “We are doing OK but I am disappointed with a few things outside our control,” said manager Danny Heale. “But we need to keep picking up points. We are only just halfway through the season.
“I always said we needed to be around it at Christmas. Now I want to shuffle the pack a bit, especially on the bench, and I think that will keep everyone ticking over.
“The division is strange this year (with only one going down and an extra promotion place) but we have to deal with it. With us coming down there are a few teams we don’t know much about. We try to scout all our opponents but we head into it a bit blind. I will get info and make sure we are ready, but we always fancy ourselves at home.”
