National League South
EAST Thurrock United suffered a home defeat to Chippenham Town.
Alex Ferguson and Josh Smile were on target either side of half-time to result in Rocks dropping points at home for the second time in a week.
John Coventry’s side were held to a 2-2 draw by strugglers Poole Town last time out, with the visitors notching a last minute equaliser to secure a share of the spoils.
However, Rocks were defeated by Chippenham, who are now just three points adrift of East Thurrock in the National League South standings.
Ferguson broke the deadlock just before the half hour mark to put the away side in the ascendancy.
And the game was put beyond Coventry’s charges with 64 minutes on the clock.
Smile got on the scoresheet to double Chippenham’s advantage.
And East Thurrock were unable to get a goal back as Chippenham kept their clean sheet intact.
Rocks will be looking to get back to winning ways when they make the short trip to Concord Rangers on Tuesday.
The Beach Boys were victorious in the reverse fixture, so East Thurrock will be aiming to get their season back on track by overcoming their local rivals.
East Thurrock United: Lidakevicius, Clark, Harris, Burns, Darling, Phipps (Agyemang 73), Yearwood (Smith 60), Cornhill, Higgins, Christou, Honesty (White 60)
