BILLERICAY Town were condemned to a second defeat in as many days after falling to a 4-1 reverse at Hendon.
Jamie O'Hara got on the scoresheet for Town, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
Billericay began the week in style by getting their hands on the Essex Senior Cup trophy after seeing off the threat of Chelmsford City.
But the late defeat to Tonbridge Angels on Thursday has now been followed by a heavy loss.
Jack Giddens made a smart save to deny Ashley Nathaniel-George, while Billy Bricknell forced home shot-stopper Tom Lovelock into an impressive stop early on.
Calum Butcher, who netted the Essex Senior Cup final's winning goal, fired over the crossbar after Lovelock misjudged a long ball forward from Billericay skipper Dean Inman.
Josh Walker struck the crossbar as Hendon ended the half well.
And the hosts were to race into a three-goal lead thanks to a devastating eight minute spell in the second half.
Niko Muir sent Giddens the wrong way from the penalty spot before doubling his tally following a goalmouth scramble.
Josh Walker brilliantly found the back of the net, while substitutes Jake Robinson, Adam Cunnington and O'Hara all went close from close range.
O'Hara's impressive free-kick gave Town hope with eight minutes to play, but Walker completed his brace in the dying moments as Billericay's push for the title suffered a setback.
Billericay Town: Giddens, Kizzi, Foley, Urquhart (O'Hara 65), Inman, Deering, Waldren (Robinson 46), Paine, Bricknell (Cunnington 46), Butcher, Modeste
