SAMMY Moore says he will be playing a key role for Concord Rangers on and off the pitch next season.

The former professional footballer was appointed on a two-year contract yesterday, and replaces Adam Flanagan who departed last week.

And Moore says both he and assistant manager Jack Midson will be donning their boots next term as they look to guide the Beach Boys to another successful season.

“I am looking forward to it,” said Moore. “Jack and I will both play a big part on the pitch next season and I am looking forward to getting in amongst it.

“But if we are playing we want good people on the side we can trust and we have that.

“Darren Beale joined Jack and I at Leatherhead at Christmas and he has pushed the club on in a massive way.

“It won’t affect the team with Jack and I playing and that is exactly how we want it.

“We will play a massive part next season and we can definitely move forward in terms of where the club is now.

“It has been a great achievement to keep the club in the division but I want to take the club on from those expectations.

“I have expectations to finish in mid-table and to push for the play-offs with the signings we have pencilled down.

“We have some very good players in mind and there are already plenty of good guys in this group.

“I met them last night and I am excited about our prospects.

“We had to make some difficult decisions but that is the business we are in.

“We are excited to get going.”
