MORE than 100 children enjoyed Thorpe Bay Lawn Tennis Club's annual summer camps.

Two week long camps at the Thorpe Bay Gardens club were run for children aged four to 14.

They ensured that children learnt to play tennis or develop their game with equal emphasis being on enjoying themselves and having fun.

Thorpe Bay's head pro Jon Lee led the older and more experienced children's groups, improving plavers' technical and tactical game.

And mini tennis coach Lucy Lauretta introduced tennis to some of the younger players and helped improve the game of those who are already playing.

Lee said: "Our tennis summer camps were as popular as ever and we would welcome children who are thinking about taking up tennis to come to our club to see our facilities and discover what we have to offer throughout the week.

"We are already one of the leading clubs in the county and hope over the next year to become the one to follow with further initiatives that are being put in place."
