SARACENS star Jackson Wray headed back to Benfleet to pass on his tips.

Wray - who helped Saracens win another Premiership title last season - is honorary president of the Benfleet Vikings.

And club chairman Adrian Boyce was delighted Wray was able to join in with their latest training session.

“It was fantastic to have Jackson with us again,” said Boyce.

“He’s obviously very well known for all the work he does in the breakdown so we ran a training session where he was able to pass on his advice and tips.

“What he told us we will run throughout all of our teams and we will be calling it the Vikings’ Wray.

“The teams we’re playing won’t know what that means but it was a great day and I’m sure Jackson enjoyed it too.

“He’s a Benfleet boy himself, so he’s one of our own and the youngsters we have at the club are also so excited when he visits.

“It’s obviously hard for Jackson to come down because of his busy schedule but we’re often in contact with him and we’re proud of our association with him.”

Wray is now gearing up for another season with Saracens but he will also be keeping an eye on the Benfleet club which continues to grow.

“We’re really pleased with how everything is progressing,” said Boyce.

“We run teams from the under-sevens up to under-15s and obviously have the men’s first team too.

“We have girls teams at under-13 and under-15 age groups and that’s something we’re looking to build and would love to attract more players.”
