ANOTHER Southend United supporter has his say.

I am writing to you today as I’m am seriously worried now about the future of Southend United, despite enjoying the deserved win v Dorking.

I have supported the club for around 55 years, through some good times but sadly more bad times, particularly over the last few seasons, culminating in the club dropping out of the Football League for the first time in around 100 years.

I accept that mine and every lower league football supporters dream of one day playing in the Premier League is highly unlikely, but it has been done by clubs of our size, such as Bournemouth, Luton, Swansea and Brentford to name just a few.

However, now things have improved at last on the field , off the field, frankly it’s nearing a disaster.

Currently, we are again unable to pay our tax bill on time, ( the 10th time now I believe), meaning we are again under a transfer embargo and have many back room staff awaiting last month's wages.

All these problems are down to one man, the owner of the club and our chairman, Ron Martin.

My fear is that this may very soon escalate to the first team squad and management team not being paid next which will then create even bigger problems for the club.

Ron Martin said a month ago that he was arranging a bridging loan to sort these cashflow problems out and that it would take weeks not months to resolve.

Well, surprise surprise, the winding up order case has been adjourned for another two months, so that will mean those weeks promised will in fact be months!

Ron Martin is not liked or trusted by the fans and it’s hardly surprising given what he puts us all through.

But we seem stuck with him as he won’t sell, but what makes it even worse is he doesn’t keep the supporters informed.

We need to know now and whether there is any way out of this mess that he’s created.

Every other club seems to manage okay both in all the Football Leagues and the National League, so why not us as well?

Over to you Ron Martin!
