MORE than 1,200 runners took part in the popular Southend 10k this morning.
The race starts at Lifstan Way before those taking part advance up and down the seafront and head back to finish just yards from the start line.
And it was Jack Nixon, from Ilford AC, who took victory as he finished in 31 minutes, 11 seconds.

Lizzie Wellsted, from Colchester AC, was the first female finisher as she completed the course in 33 minutes, 44 seconds.
