SOUTHEND Saxons will resume their push for promotion tomorrow.
The Regional Two Anglia leaders were without a fixture last weekend.
And director of rugby Josh Ward is relishing his side’s return to action against Stowmarket at Warners Bridge on Saturday.
“We gave everyone the week off last week completely,” said Ward.
“Some of the boys were in for treatment but we came back together on Tuesday and we’ve had a good week.
“It was nice to get everyone back in and it was like a bit of a school holiday really after the time away!
“We’re ready to go again and we’ve got two games at home on Saturday.
“The Priors are playing Rochford as well and we’re looking forward to get into a new block.
“It’s important to push on from where we are now.”
Table-topping Southend have triumphed in their last nine games.
But Ward is taking nothing for granted against ninth placed Stowmarket.
“They will be looking for some consistency in their season,” said Ward.
“They’ve had some decent results and some I’m sure they’ve found disappointing.
“But regardless of conditions or scores we’ve always found them to be a side who really play.
“By that I mean for the full duration they’re engaged and play a good attacking brand of rugby.
“They’ve got good set piece so there are areas of theirs we’ve got to nullify while trying to implement our game plan on them.”
