CONCORD Rangers will look to end a run of four Ryman One North league games without a win when Northwood visit Thames Road tonight.
The hosts will be hoping to provide more fire power than in Saturday’s home clash with promotion-chasing East Thurrock United when they failed to provide a telling goal chance in a 1-0 defeat.
But Northwood will hardly come to the game full of confidence after providing bottom club Witham with only their second win in 16 starts, also 1-0, in mid-Essex on Saturday.
That success was a triumph for ex Southend United man Danny Greaves, son of legendary goal star Jimmy, who has just taken over as manager at Witham.
Concord, who got off to a great start in this their first season at this level after winning the Essex Senior League last term, are in danger of of fading out of the promotion hunt.
They currently trail a Rocks side filling the final play-off spot by 10 points and are in 10th position in the standings.
Tonight’s visitors are on level points with them, one place below on goal difference, from level games.
Also tonight, Tilbury will be hoping to get back on the win trail, but might find it tough at home to a Wingate and Finchley side currently seventh but badly needing quick points to get back in the play-off hunt.
The Dockers have somewhat run aground in recent weeks and currently lie 13th.
