BASILDON professional Stuart Bingham has slipped to 20th on the provisional rankings covering the last campaign and the current season following the Bahrain Championship.

In a good 2007/08 season he picked up 14,775 points and has gathered 4,594 so far this term for a 19,369 total.

The new towner started the 2008/09 campaign 21st in the official rankings.

He's next in action on Sunday night when he'll meet the winner of the Jimmy White v Andy Hicks match in the Masters qualifying tournament - an event he's won twice in three years - with a 7pm start.

However, the Masters is a non-ranking event, but he'll soon be back chasing points again when the qualifying for the Maplin UK Championship starts early next month.

In this he'll be in action at 10am on Sunday December 7.

Both these qualifiers are being held at the World Snooker Academy at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

Victory in his only UK qualifying match would see Bingham through to the main stages, which go ahead at the Telford International Centre from December 13-21.
