WITH a visit to high-flying play-off hopefuls Maidenhead due tomorrow night, Fleet badly needed to win this home clash with mid-table Bromley to ease their relegation fears.

But they stay firmly entrenched in the bottom three after sharing the spoils in a well-fought even contest.

After Jamie Richards had gone close for the home side with an early lob from David Bryant’s excellent flick, Bromley took a 13th-minute lead when Ryan Hall smashed a 12-yard effort past keeper Joe Woolley.

The visitors enjoyed a spell of domination, but the hosts hit back after the break with Sam Lechmere putting a left-foot volley just wide.

Warren McBean went close in a Bromley break, but Fleet levelled on 67 minutes with a quality goal.

Che Stadhart hit a 25-yard volley into the top corner, giving visiting stopper Gareth Williams no chance, and exerted some late pressure.

But Bromley had the best chance of claiming all three points in front of a 320 Ship Lane crowd when Luke I’Anson shot just wide with three minutes remaining.
