MAX Jones and Millie Smith continued their glory trail which started the previous week with Essex Championship victory when they won their respective races at the Castle Point and Rochford Primary Schools event at King John School, Thundersley.

Max (Edward Francis) won the year five boys’ race with the year six girls’ event going to Grove Wood’s Millie.

The event was organised by King John PE teacher Joyce Taylor and the school’s leadership students.

Amber Evans (Plumberow) won the year five girls’ race from schoolmate Jasmine Bryant with South Benfleet’s Kiera Tippett third. South Benfleet were the team winners from Westwood with Kents Hill third.

Runner-up to Max Jones in the year five boys was Elliot Capel (Plumberow) with Tareem Codabaceus (Edward Francis) third.

Edward Francis were team winners from Plumberow with Jotmans third.

Millie Smith will feature for Essex under-13 girls in the televised Inter-Counties Champion-ships at Nottingham tomorrow, being shown on Sky Sports from 11am to 3.30pm She was followed at King John by Antonia Tidy Jones, (Kingston) with Victoria Hiscock (Plumber-ow) third. Team winners were Northwick Park from Kents Hill with Hadleigh third.

Year six boys’ winner was Mitchel Delves (Riverside), from Plumberow pupils Eddy Cooper (second) and Alfie Williams (third).

Team winners here were Hadleigh from Northwick Park with Our Lady of Ransom third.
