THEO Robinson may have been thrilled to add to his tally of strikes for the Shrimpers against Walsall yesterday.

But the on loan forward was also disappointed not to have netted more goals.

The 20-year-old neatly dispatched a Dorian Dervite through ball to seal a 2-0 triumph before being denied by Saddlers shot-stopper Clayton Ince.

And those missed chances left Robinson in a mixed mood at the final whistle.

“It was great to score and to also win but I should have scored more,” said Robinson.

“The keeper is big and stayed up well towards the end when he blocked my shot with his legs. These things happen though and the most important thing is that we won.”

Robinson, who has now scored three goals since signing for the Shrimpers from Watford, also created Kevin Betsy’s opening effort.

And Robinson felt the increased speed of Southend’s build up play during the second half made a massive difference.

“In the first half we were playing it from side to side but it was all a bit slow,” he said.

“It was frustrating and we weren’t quick enough but in the second half we showed what we could do.

“We needed the points and it was great to get them.”

Robinson is now seeking more of the same tomorrow night at Brighton and Hove Albion as Blues bid to continue their good run of results.

“I know a few of the players who have just gone there so it’s going to be a good game,” he said.

“We want to keep this run going but we are taking it a game at a time and will see what happens.”
