ROCHFORD Bowling Club have held their open day. The club’s president, Peter Rouse, and men’s captain Peter Parsons — along with ladies’ captain Doreen Wood — opened the 2009 Season with a club roll-up.
A total of 70 players attended and enjoyed the session followed by a running buffet supplied by a small team of members headed by Pat Brady.
The first friendly match was an away fixture at Danbury BC.
The competition took place in sunny conditions but Rochford lost the encounter 63-81.
The winning rink was Chris Chorley, Joyce Mitchell, Tony Jay and Alex Hanton who logged 17-13.
