IAN Mudie and Chris Shawyer were in superb form as the club hosted their May medals and Belfairs Cup qualifiers.

In the first medal Mudie (10) earned a one shot handicap cut as his stunning gross 76 for a net 66 won by a clear five shots.

Super vet Harry Burke (13), posted a fine net 71 of his own to take second spot while canny Eddie Stretch (21), was third with a battling 74. Shawyer (18) was another player to receive a one shot cut as a trio of birdies from holes 11 to 13 helped him to a brilliant net 65 and so claim the second day's medal.

Jon Howley (8) was again in impressive form as, despite going out of bounds on the first, he returned to his fine form in carding a net 68 and second spot on countback.

Newcomer Toby Sullivan (22) was third with a good round of gross 90 for a net 68 with the highlight being an eagle as his drive on the 16th. The third and final medal saw a number of players find it a struggle with the prize not being won by a sub 70 round for a change.

Alan Gribbon played very well for a net 70 and that was just enough to pip fellow 10 handicapper Kevin Gough (net 71) and claim the prize.Gough was second.

Barry Meddle (16) had a solid back nine to be pleased with as his net 73 claimed third spot on countback from Bob Clark, Luke Alden and Dave Smith.
