WITH the course in excellent condition it was a busy week at the Lord’s Golf and Country Club (Rayleigh) with the ladies starting the competitions with their mid-week medal.

Taking the prize was Susan Sage who had a gross 86 (net 68). Following close behind was Pat Smith (16) net 69 and in third place was Jenny Williment (36) net 73.

In the first of the men’s midweek Stableford competitions it was Kevin Tibble (15) who came in with a score of 44 points ahead of Nick Seaby (15) 38 and Nick Livermore (16) 27.

On day two it was Jim Prentice (5) who was triumphant when he returned a score of 40 points. Second place went to Robbie Topley (3) with 38 ahead of Leslie Harries (19) with 37.

On day three, after having his handicap cut by two, Prentice was triumphant once again when he returned a score of 38 pts ahead of George Williamson (2) and Tom Juchnicki (4) who both came in with scores of 36.

At the weekend it was the turn of the bogey-par competitions and on Saturday it was Colin Weldon (22) who took the prize with a +4 ahead of Martin Wilcox (12) who had the same score.

Finishing in third place was Andrew Billington (23) who had a +3.

On Sunday Mark Carpenter (16) had an excellent round finishing with a +6 ahead of Graham Halling (8) who had a +5 followed by Bob Dowsett (13) who finished with +4.
