England Twenty20 wicketkeeper James Foster is the best gloveman in the world, according to Alec Stewart.

The Essex star impressed in the World Twenty20, particularly with his stumping of Yuvraj Singh in the Super Eights match against India that helped send the holders out.

Stewart said: "I'd go as far as to say James Foster is the best wicketkeeper in the world.

"His glovework is absolutely top class.

"He changed the game with that stumping to get rid of Yuvraj Singh. It was pure class, pure genius."

Former England wicketkeeper Stewart stopped short of calling for Foster to be brought into the Ashes Test side, though.

"Matt Prior, for the balance of the Test side, is very much nailed on in that position," he added.
