Division One: Westcliff drew with Ardleigh Green at Wellstead Gardens in a match which saw visiting bowler John Coxall take his 1,000th wicket for the club.

The visitors hit 225-8 declared from 52 overs with Tiraj Pater (90) and Geoff Marchant (39) providing most resistance to a Westcliff attack that saw Peter Shaw take 2-33 and Dave Bullen, Phil Nice and Alan Hurley a scalp each.

Stephen Johnson (31) and Bullen (29) led the run chase, which finished at 160-8 off 42 overs with Coxall (2-31) taking a brace, along with three other Ardleigh Green bowlers.

Division Two: Basildon & Pitsea enjoyed a 73-run win at Langdon Hills Rec over visitors Horndon on the Hill.

Phillip Murdoch (33) and Steven Ayres (9) made a good start, but Tom Poole (118no) and Brian Waterman (85no) saw the New Towners to 268-2 dec off 47 overs, with Richard Jasper and Ian Clark taking the wickets to fall.

Ryan Cutts (58) anchored the Horndon reply, but with Peter Clark the only other batsmen to break the 20 barrier, the visitors were bowled out for 195 off 48.5 overs, with Richard Thompson (4-55), Ayres (3-39) and Poole (2-53) taking the wickets.

Leigh also enjoyed victory batting first, beating host Hadleigh & Thundersley by 50 runs at John Burrows Park.

Neil Attwood’s 58 helped Leigh post 185 all out from 46.4 overs as Luke Smith took 5-42 for the hosts.

But Hadleigh were bowled out for 135 in reply off 36.5 overs.

Wickford welcomed Chelmsford to the Patmore Memorial Park and were defeated by 157 runs after putting the visitors in to bat.

Tom Witham (55) and David Goddard (48) laid the foundations for Chelmsford's 227-4 declared total off 49 overs, although they were helped by 41 extras.

Craig Marstarson (2-55) led the Wickford attack before his side were bowled out for 70 off 30 overs in reply.

Darren Windeatt (18) and D Black (15) were the only batsmen to get into double figures as Neil Raisborough (4-15), Ken Jones (3-16) and Alistair Fergus (3-29) did the business with the ball.

Division Three: Old Southendian & Soutchurch prevailed by eight wickets in their derby match away to Southend on Sea at Victory Sports.

Steve Laflin top-scored for the Seasiders as they made 168 all out off 46.1 overs. But G Bray (78) and captain Nathan Linfield (56) led the run chase for the Old Boys, which resulted in them posting 172-2 in reply off 26.1 overs.

Benfleet travelled to Upminster and returned from Gloucester Park with an 18-run win.

The visitors opted to bat and hit 200-7 declared off 52 overs, with Stephen Reeve (47) and Rob Hunt (42) leading the way.

David Staples (4-52) did the most damage with the ball for Upminster before they were bowled out for 182 off 44.1 overs in reply. Jamie O’Dell (80) provided the main resistance as Peter Hitchcok (5-52), Sam Handley (4-47) and Martin Ware (1-20) claimed the wickets.

Belhus hosted Gidea Park & Romford at South Ocklendon Rec and had to settle for a draw.

The hosts put Gidea Park in and saw them post 244 all out off 51 overs thanks to Samuel Davies (60), Baljit Jutla (47) and Christ-opher McKie (38) as Connor Day (4-42), Mike Squires (4-60) and Paul Hall (2-29) got among the wickets.

Stuart Morris (57), Scott Bayford (28) and Hall (26) provided the main resistance as Belhus replied with 176-8 from 47 overs, with McKie taking 3-16.

Billericay were also held to a draw against hosts Epping at Coopersale.

The visitors were put into bat by Epping and posted a decent 254-3 declared off 37 overs. But Epping staved off defeat as they reached 196-9 from 55 overs in reply.
