I REALLY don’t think it is going to be long until someone takes a real hiding from us.

Hopefully it will be at Swindon on Saturday but we would happily accept a 1-0 win there. We are creating so many chances at the moment and sooner or later they have to go in because we are playing really well too.

We again created opportunities during the week at Hull City and it was therefore disappointing to come away with a 3-1 defeat.

It was fantastic to make my 250th appearance for the club but it really could have been a night to celebrate if we had converted our chances.

We were on top for the first 30 minutes of the second half and if we had equalised then I fancied us to go on and win it.

It wasn’t to be but we’re still feeling positive and looking forward to the Swindon game on Saturday.

We didn’t play at all well there last season when we lost 3-0 and it’s always a hard place to go.

Their cup game at Wolverhampton Wanderers went to extra time and penalties during the week though so hopefully that will still be in their legs and we can take advantage to help us get our first three point haul of the season.

BANKING ON FRANKIE IS MUSICAL TREAT

FRANKIE Banks travelled up with us to the game on Tuesday night.

As is now the norm he had to get up and sing at our pre-match meal and he really did put the rest of us to shame.

We were really very impressed. And fair play to Frankie for getting up and joining in with the banter, but I think he thought he was on stage!

He sang an old favourite of his and was really getting into it – swaying around!

Our American goalkeeper Ian Joyce has also been getting plenty of stick this week.

He answered in the programme quiz that Don King was the new manager of Tranmere Rovers and it certainly gave us all a laugh.Joycey reckons he didn’t say it and is disappointed it made the programme.

But we don’t believe that for one second!

SOL SURPRISES US ALL

IT is amazing what is happening at Notts County at the moment and I’m very surprised Sol Campbell has gone there.

He’s an England international and was a big player in the Premier League so it does seem strange that Sol is now going to be in League Two. Notts County seems to be the club to be at right now though and they are certainly going to be very strong with the likes of Kasper Schmeichel and Lee Hughes already there.

It will be interesting to see how Sol gets on as well and it’s certainly a different type of football to what he has been used to.

Without being disrespectful it will also be intriguing when he goes to the likes of Accrington Stanley or Morecambe on a cold Tuesday night in front of 1, 800 fans.

FOOTBALL'S SHAME

WATCHING the television on our way home from the match at Hull on Tuesday night it was very sad to see the scenes from the West Ham v Millwall match.

There is a big rivalry between the teams but it is one thing having a bit of banter and another when it comes to kicking lumps out of each other.

I can’t remember seeing such bad scenes and it’s a shame that people think it’s necessary to do that over a game of football.

There is no place for that in the game and no-one wants to see it. I don’t know how you stop it because apparently the police did everything they could.

But the fans involved should all be given life bans.
