IT’S Brighton away this weekend and it would be nice to get our first away league win of the season there.

Like many teams in our league, their form has been a bit up and down so far and hopefully we can catch them on one of their bad days.

They’ve won their last two games though and in Nicky Forster they have a very dangerous striker.

He’s enjoying a good run of form right now and we will need to keep an eye on him because he’s a real poacher.

But we go into the game with confidence because our form has been good lately.

I would say that we have been the better team in all our matches so far and now we just need to start being a little more ruthless in front of goal.

That will help turn these draws into wins, but I think it’s been an encouraging start for us.

We played well last Friday against Leeds and it was nice to have some relaxation time after that.

On a rare weekend off I chilled out with my family and on Sunday we went to the Essex Country Show which was fun.

With the reserves also playing this week, we haven’t been in training much to be able to take the mickey out of each other.

But it’s been a welcome rest and I’m sure it will help us for Saturday.

GREAT TO SEE THE THREE LIONS ROARING

Since my last column, England have made sure of qualification for the World Cup and it was very nice to see.

With the players we have we should be beating these nations and it was a fantastic performance against Croatia.

It’s also great that we’ve now seem to have got rid of the Wembley hoodoo and we can look forward to next summer.

And I’m sure by then we will all get carried away thinking we’re going to win it!

I THINK ADEBAYOR'S CELEBRATION ANTICS WERE PRETTY STUPID

Emmanuel Adebayor has been hitting the headlines this week and I have to say I thought what he did was pretty stupid against Arsenal on Saturday.

There was no need to race the whole length of the pitch to celebrate scoring in front of his former fans and that’s only going to incite trouble.

Coming so soon after the crowd trouble involving West Ham and Millwall and Nottingham Forest’s Nathan Tyson doing what he did in front of the Derby fans, I thought it was very unprofessional.

I know that fans can often shout out things which are vile, quite personal and a bit below the belt, but you’re never going to stop that so you have to try and rise above it.

Players do sometimes react and I can understand it, but Adebayor was by his own fans so why not enjoy the moment with them? He then also injured Robin Van Persie and I think he did it on purpose, so it’s safe to say I’m not his biggest fan at the moment.
