IT DOESN’T get much easier for us this weekend as we travel to Charlton Athletic.

It’s going to be another very hard game but there will be a big crowd in what is a good ground and these are the matches you like to play in.

We will need to produce a hard working performance if we are to stand any chance of getting something from the game.

But the match will also see Alan McCormack coming up against Nicky Bailey which will be quite an interesting and fiery tussle. When Nicky was with us him and Macca were like an old married couple.

They’re good friends, but still used to fight like cat and dog and that was when they were on the same team so Saturday could be interesting to the say the least in the midfield. Nicky is a good player and he’s done very well for Charlton. Everyone knows about Macca’s qualities too so it will be a good battle and no-one will be pulling out of any tackles.

Jeff (Christophe) is suspended too so Anthony Grant is also likely to be in there so I think a few yellow cards could be shown!

We go into the game after losing to Norwich on Tuesday night but I thought there were positives to take from that game.

We were playing well but then their first goal changed the goal.

The second one was going wide until it hit Scott Malone and then the third one wasn’t a penalty because Alan McCormack won the ball.

Norwich are a strong side and credit to them because they kept a good shape to make it hard for us.

But I didn’t think it was a 3-0 game and we will look to bounce back this weekend.

CALLING JABO TO THE STAGE

IT'S been quite a quiet week in terms of the banter but the good thing about new players coming is them having to sing.

Next up is Jabo Ibehre and we’re looking forward to seeing him perform.

I’m not sure if it will be on Saturday because it’s normally when we do an overnight stay that the singing starts.

But if we’re having a pre match meal then we may well call on Jabo!

BLUES OFF TO DUBLIN FOR XMAS

CHRISTMAS is rapidly approaching and we are going to Dublin for our party this year.

Unfortunately it won’t be in fancy dress — which I think is a great shame.

But we’re all going away together and it will be really good for team bonding.

With so many players coming and going we’re not sure who is actually coming with us right now but I’m sure it will be a good laugh.

We have plenty of games before we go away though and hopefully we can pick up plenty of points in them.
